Meet the team

Atkinson Insurance Group (Formerly Aloha Insurance Center) is a mid-sized insurance agency located in the Cornell West building of Beaverton, Oregon. We have been in the insurance industry since 1979. Atkinson Insurance Group specializes in personal lines and life insurance.

The current agency principle and owner is Mark Atkinson. Mark Atkinson began his career with Aloha Insurance Center in June of 1982. He became a partner in 1987 and furthermore bought out the agency in 2005 as sole owner. The agency was renamed Atkinson Insurance Group in late 2005.

Our mission statement is:

To serve our clients well by providing protection so that we can serve and give to those who may never be our clients.

We are here to serve people. It is our mission to serve as many people, clients and non clients, as we can. We want to see growth in our agency so that we can ultimately serve more people. We are able to serve people in many different ways but in our agency, giving is a primary focus. We love what we do and who we get to do it with on a daily basis. We get the pleasure of providing protection for our clients which brings about a sense of peace.

  • Mark Atkinson Owner

    Mark Atkinson has been with the agency for over twenty five years. He was a partner when the agency was formerly Aloha Insurance Center. He took over as primary owner when the other two partners retired in 2005. The agency then became known as Atkinson Insurance Group. In spring of 2014 he moved the agency to the Cornell West building in Beaverton, Oregon.  Mark Atkinson handles all of the ownership responsibilities and spends the rest of his time marketing for the agency.

    Mark is happily married to his wife, Janell, and lives in the Beaverton area with their dog Cassie. They have four children that are out of the house and scattered between California and Oregon. One of Mark’s biggest joys is being a grandfather! Henry was born in September 2012 while George was born in August 2014. Mark and Janell both love to cook, entertain in their home and yard, travel and of course who could pass up a good baseball game!

  • Kaity Blacksher Agency Manager / Producer

    Kaity has over twelve years of experience in the insurance industry. She has been a part of our team since May 2005. She is actively involved in producing new business for the agency in addition to managing the operations side of the company. Kaity is licensed to sell property, casualty, life and health insurance.  She works Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday each week and stays home Wednesdays to be with her kids.

    Kaity and her husband, Todd, live in the Murrayhill area with their six year old son Conner, and their one year old daughter, Karlie. Included in their household are their two dogs Maddie and Joey. They love to travel and have been to Mexico, Canada, France, the United Kingdom, Jamaica and a number of states throughout the country. Their traveling may have slowed some as their calendar fills up with kids sports, camping and other recreational family activities.

  • Kelli Horning Communications Specialist

    Kelli has been with us since May 2006 and is licensed to sell personal lines. Kelli handles our customer service department. She is the shortest of the bunch but makes up for it in service. She has a bachelor’s degree in child development and although she loves children she has enjoyed working in the insurance industry. Kelli works Mondays and Wednesdays thru Fridays each week. Kelli does not work in the office on Tuesdays.

    Kelli and her husband, Carl, live in North Plains on family property where they built their home. Kelli, Carl and their daughter Eva share their home with their dogs, Mojo and Luca. They enjoy outdoor activities and spend most of their time on their family property but in their free time winter weekends are spent snowboarding while summer weekends they can be found at the beach relaxing.

  • Kerrie Denner Personal Lines Producer

    Kerrie started with the agency in January 2015. Her role in the agency includes selling personal lines and life insurance while also handling customer service needs. A typical day for Kerrie is all about serving our agency clients and producing new business.

    Kerrie lived many years on the Eastside in the Alameda neighborhood but now lives across the river on the Westside. A recent empty nester, Kerrie is still adjusting to the boys not being home. Perhaps she needs a furry companion to keep her company. Kerrie has two boys, Will and Neal. Will is a journalist over in Madras, Oregon and Neal recently graduated high school. Kerrie enjoys traveling, gardening, reading, and entertaining friends and family.

  • Kate Eberwein Customer Service Specialist

    The newest member to join our team, Kate, assists with serving our customers with their daily needs. Kate handles all sorts of policy changes, the addition or removal of a vehicle or driver, reviewing current policy details and coverages, assisting with billing and payment questions, mortgage and finance company requests, etc. With a name like, Kate, she’s sure to fit in quite well around here.

    Kate was born in Aberdeen, WA and raised in Hillsboro, Oregon. She majored in Theatre down at Santa Clara University in California and went on to start her own nonprofit theatre company. She moved to Seattle to pursue an opportunity there but eventually came home where she could settle down. Kate currently lives in Forest Grove with a pug, Violet, and is a very active aunt to her many nieces and nephew. She loves traveling and has been to Costa Rica, Amsterdam, London and New York to name a few. Kate enjoys a good movie, sometimes a bad one, and really values time with her family.
